Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year from all of us at The Women's Foundation! We are starting the Year of the Monkey with a bang with some exciting events coming up in the next few weeks.

This Thursday, we will premiere our new documentary, She Objects, in India as part of the first FLO Film Festival, organised by the FICCI Ladies Organisation, Mumbai Chapter.

Looking further ahead to the beginning of March, we have a slew of exciting events around the visit of anti-sexism author, academic and activist, Jackson Katz to Hong Kong. These include a talk at HKU on "Engendering a Culture of Prevention on Campuses: The Bystander Intervention Model", an active fathering workshop in partnership with the Chinese International School's PTA, a seminar for university administrators organised by the EOC on reducing harassment on campuses, a training session on gender sensitivity for the Hong Kong Police, a media literacy workshop with HKIS students, and a roundtable for NGOs and experts involved in ending violence against women. Jackson will also be the keynote speaker at our International Women's Day lunch on March 4. Many of these events are free and open to the public - see below for more details on how to sign up. We would like to express our deep gratitude to the many organisations who are supporting and partnering with us in respect of Jackson's visit. A big thank you in particular to Ashurst, the Chinese International School, the EOC, HKIS, HKU, Thomson Reuters, Upper House, the US Consulate and Women Helping Women.

On International Women's Day itself, we are delighted to be partnering with AmCham's Women of Influence Committee to present a panel of AmCham Women of Influence Award Winners on "Celebrating the Path to Success: Why Mistakes Are Mandatory". We will also be screening excerpts from She Objects and discussing the Thinness Ideal at IWD-related events at the LRC and Morgan Stanley. We also look forward to participating in the Reel Women Hong Kong Film Festival on March 11 and discussing the under-representation of women in the film industry.

We have many more exciting events on the radar for March and April so please stay tuned. For all our supporters, we urge you to fasten your seatbelts and pop those vitamins for an action-packed few months ahead!
