About the 30% Club
In 2013, The Women’s Foundation launched the 30% Club Hong Kong – a group of Board Chairs and business leaders who are committed to bringing more women onto Hong Kong corporate boards.
The objectives of the 30% Club are to:
Raise awareness of
the benefits of
gender diversity
Inspire informed
debate and discussion
Support initiatives to
build the pipeline of
women in executive and
non-executive roles
The 30% Club believes that gender diversity is good for the overall effectiveness of the boardroom – and therefore is good for business. Besides benefiting companies, greater board diversity also benefits Hong Kong.
Since our launch, the 30% Club has recruited new members and worked with Government, businesses, investors, corporate and industry associations, chambers of commerce and executive search firms to identify and implement measures to increase the representation of women in Hong Kong’s boardrooms and build the pipeline of women leaders.
Boardroom Series for Women Leaders
Hong Kong is a major international financial centre, yet women are still underrepresented in boardrooms, with the latest figure of women on HSI company boards still at 19.8% (as of Sept. 2023).
Objectives
TWF & 30% Club HK Boardroom Series for Women Leaders aims to:
- Create visibility for highly qualified women for boards and C-suite.
- Share the realities of being a board director earlier on in their career.
- Connect with highly qualified women to the right people and positions
- Encourage women to make the transition to the C-suite and boardroom

Exclusively for Women to Watch candidates and Corporate Partner nominees, the sixth cycle of the Boardroom Series runs from November 2023 to June 2024.

30% Club Boardroom Lunch
Our flagship 30% Club Annual Boardroom Lunch brings accomplished and highly qualified women to watch face-to-face with board and C-suite members from leading local and international companies and their advisors for simulated boardroom discussions on key issues facing boards today. This flagship event aims to break down some of the closed circle networks which are often used to fill board appointments and provide an opportunity for women to showcase their expertise and credentials for board positions in front of senior company representatives.
Each sponsoring organisation can invite four of their corporate reprensentatives from their Board or C-suite and select one of the four to facilitate the table discussion. The table will also comprise five Women to Watch, selected by The Women's Foundation and one representative from an executive search firm or 30% Club VIP. In a simulation of boardroom discussions, guests engage in a structured exchange of views on some of the key issues facing boards today, using case studies distributed in advance. Past topics have included executive compensation, risk assessment, social media strategy, and many others.
