The lunch brought together a select group of Hong Kong business leaders and ABAC members who shared best practices for increasing women’s economic participation and the number of women in senior executive and non-executive roles.

Doris Ho, ABAC Chair of 2015 started the discussion by stating that board diversity had now became one of the rising and most heated topics in Asia. Su-Mei Thompson, CEO of The Women’s Foundation shared the findings of a Linklaters’ research on Nomination and Diversity on Hong Kong boards, and pointed out there were still gaps to fill in order to reach a more balanced gender composition in many of the boards of Hong Kong listed companies. She highlighted the key measures businesses should take to improve the numbers, including the use of external search firms and establishing a nomination committee to identify, and make recommendations on potential candidates. Ronald S. Lee, Managing Director of Goldman Sachs (Asia) shared the impressive initiatives Goldman Sachs' pursues for greater gender diversity throughout the pipeline.
