TWF/Bloomberg Leading Women in FinTech
TWF and Bloomberg are delighted to present a panel of Leading Women in FinTech as part of our Leading Women Speaker Series, encouraging women in male-dominated sectors to aspire, grow and lead.
Emerging financial technologies promises are already redefining not just everyday banking, but the nature of money itself. As a leading international financial centre, developing expertise in FinTech is key for Hong Kong to stay relevant to the global, evolving market. According to a 2016 report by the Collinson Group, four out of five affluent consumers in Hong Kong are using technology to access and manage their finances, and this trend is expected to increase significantly over the coming years.
FinTech offers tremendous career opportunities for women. Innotribe’s 2015 white paper on Power Women in FinTech, showcases some of the top female leaders in the FinTech industry and a 2016 Oliver Wyman study on Women in Financial Services found that in the top 20 FinTech companies in China, 50% had women founders, CEOs or Senior Managers.
Our panel of female FinTech leaders will discuss:
- Opportunities and challenges for women in the FinTech sector
- How BlockChain and other FinTech applications are transforming the face of banking and the challenges this poses for traditional institutions and mindsets
- Where innovation is coming from, whether this is from banks or start-ups, and the implications for talent pipeline development
Moderated by Lu Lu Chen, Senior Technology Reporter at Bloomberg, our panellists include:
Renu Bhatia - Founding Partner, SuperCharger
Melissa Guzy - Managing Partner, Arbor Ventures
Bénédicte N. Nolens - Senior Director, Head of Risk & Strategy, Securities and Futures Commission
Janet Yuen - Head of Business Model Innovation & Market Development, Asia Pacific Digital, HSBC
For enquiries, please contact Lisa Moore at lisa.moore@twfhk.org
A light lunch will be provided. We are very grateful to Bloomberg for their generous support.
