International Women's Day may be coming to an end, but the spirit of #EachForEqual can continue all year.
What a week! Although the disruptions amid the coronavirus prevented in-person commemorations, the spirit of International Women's Day still flourished in virtual spaces. From our panel discussion looking at how Hong Kong can harness the challenges of the current situation to bring about greater gender equality to features in the South China Morning Post and Hong Kong Citizen News on the overall structural and societal issues we need to tackle to improve the lives of women and girls. These conversations, feedback and reflections have helped us to consider new areas and directions for our work.
The real highlight of the week, however, was the outpouring of actionable commitments that individuals made to advance gender equality at home, at work and in society. These actions are vital to making gender equality a reality. Thank you to each of you who took part in our campaign. For those of you unable to join us, there are still other IWD-related events taking place throughout the month that you'll find in our "In the Community" section. And it's never too late to commit to a small, consistent action to close the gender gap.
Make it specific. Make it actionable. Make it a habit.
International Women's Day may be coming to an end, but the spirit of #EachForEqual can continue all year.
If each of us is committed to making a difference every day, we can together build a city that is #EachForEqual.
