Join us on March 5 as we bring you TWF’s International Women’s Day Lunch in a virtual format with generous support from Associate Sponsors the Financial Times and Swire Group.
We bring you an exciting programme under the theme of “Scripting Our Future: A Gender Equal Narrative” featuring an inspiring discussion with leaders in the film industry including directors Ruby Yang and Jenny Suen as well as Kelly Willis, Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Asia, compelling stories from our programme participants, live music entertainment and more.
At TWF, we believe challenges wrought by the pandemic offer unique possibilities for change, particularly in closing the gender gap. The power of film is in its ability to both portray reality and to transcend it, reshaping the story into a more profound message of what is possible. It is precisely this imagination of possibility that is needed as we move forward.
Since the start of the pandemic, we have pivoted our efforts to empower women and girls adversely impacted by Covid-19 to achieve a better quality of life for themselves and their families. This includes #TEENforGood, an online tutoring support programme for underprivileged upper primary or secondary school students provided by TWF T.E.E.N. Programme graduates; alongside continuing to equip underprivileged families with needed tech through our #TechForGood initiative, advocating for domestic violence protections, and tackling sexual violence kick-started by our #MakePeopleCount campaign.
This is alongside our groundbreaking programmes and initiatives to challenge gender stereotypes, empower women in poverty and advance women leaders – through our STEM programmes (Girls Go Tech and Digital Literacy), Mentoring Programme, Boardroom Series for Women Leaders, Male Allies Initiative, research, advocacy, campaigns and more.
The TWF community has been vital to transforming the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong and we are counting on your support, more than ever, to help us raise funds so we can continue our critical work and deepen our impact.
With spaces filling fast, we encourage you to register to join the event soon! Consider multiplying the fun and impact by hosting a ‘watch party’ for your friends or colleagues from your home or office. To host a watch party, please email Bernard.Lee@twfhk.org and we will share the hosting information.
Let’s together rewrite the script to create a gender equal future, full of possibility for all.
