Thank you for supporting us and joining our first-ever Virtual Gala under the theme 'Facing Challenge, Fuelling Change' last Thursday! We are immensely grateful to our Title Sponsor Bloomberg and our Associate Sponsor Cathay Pacific for their dedication to The Women’s Foundation. The Gala would not have been possible without their support.
It was our largest Gala to date, with over 1,000 individuals joining from a cross section of industries, consulates, NGOs, academics and diversity champions to support efforts to create a gender equal city.
We had a timely and inspiring fireside chat between the Hon Julia Gillard AC and Christine Loh about challenges women leaders face, what effective leadership looks like under COVID-19 and whether current conditions will help to accelerate gender equality. Thank you, David Ingles, for expertly moderating the discussion. It was uplifting to hear the sharing by our Girls Go Tech Programme participant, Annie Bok, as well as Vice Principal of her school Chu Ka Tim from Hong Kong True Light College.
We would like to thank our fabulous emcee Karen Koh, pledge master Angelina Kwan, and Olivia Dawn for her incredible live music performance.

As we enter this next phase, gender equality has never been more critical. COVID-19 has exposed inequalities and disproportionately impacted the women and girls of our city. We must face these challenges with courage and community, inspiring the bold endeavours that make change possible so that women and girls aren’t the victims of COVID-19 but part of the solution.
Together, we can fuel a future that is gender equal once and for all.
