Join us on November 5 as we bring you TWF’s annual Gala in a virtual format fitting for the times, with generous support from Title Sponsor Bloomberg and Associate Sponsor Cathay Pacific.
We are excited to bring you a dynamic programme fostering forward-looking conversations around the theme of “Facing Challenge | Fuelling Change” featuring special guests, inspiring speakers, and heartwarming stories of programme participants.
One key highlight is our fireside chat with the Hon Julia Gillard AC, 27th Prime Minister of Australia, and Christine Loh, Chief Development Strategist, Institute for the Environment, HKUST, moderated by David Ingles, Anchor and Head of Markets Coverage for Bloomberg TV Asia.
Hong Kong has faced unprecedented challenges in the face of COVID-19. Women will continue to be disproportionately impacted by this crisis: juggling extra caregiving responsibilities, navigating financial and job insecurities, and facing increased risks of domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence. As we enter this next phase, gender equality has never been more critical. At TWF, we are committed to forging a path forward that is gender equal – for all.
Alongside our regular community and advocacy programmes, we have been actively addressing issues exacerbated by the pandemic. Our #TechForGood initiative has equipped over 500 underprivileged families with needed tech devices; our #MakePeopleCount campaign raised awareness on sexual violence across the city; building on our eldercare research last year, we announced research and recommendations with HSBC Life and HKU to better support working dementia caregivers. We have advocated for stronger protections for domestic violence victims and we outlined wholesale recommendations to Government to advance gender equality in Hong Kong.
And we have much more work to do.
This period of crisis is the perfect opportunity to recalibrate our thinking and utilise these challenges as a powerful catalyst for positive change.
The TWF community has been vital to transforming the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong and we are counting on your support, more than ever, to help us raise funds so we can continue our critical work and deepen our impact.
We encourage you to take it to the next level and share your passion for TWF and our work by inviting your friends and colleagues to throw a ‘watch party’ together. Joining the event together enables us to fuel change because collectively we can make change happen.
Register for an individual ticket here. If you would like to participate as an organisation, corporate sponsorship opportunities are still available, please contact Virginia.Li@twfhk.org for more details.
