We aim to empower underserved women with the following objectives:
Strengthen Mental Wellbeing & Coping Skills
Build practical tools including mindfulness for emotional management
Enhance Essential Life Skills
Financial literacy, communication, healthy relationship boundaries
Reduce Social Isolation
Digital literacy, peer support networks, community participation
Programme Highlights
We focus on community-based delivery in relevant districts where 10-15 women per cohort are grouped together for four week, 2-hour workshops that are complemented by a moderated peer support network on WhatsApp.
Participants are encouraged to engage in exercises that empower their sense of self worth and self-confidence. This positive mindset is reinforced through participants’ relationships with other women in their cohort and by engaging in behaviours and habits that continue to affirm this self-efficacy and empowerment.

Participants will attend workshops that cover: tools to manage emotions and stress, strategies for effective communication, tips on family budgeting and spending, and strategies for greater online engagement and community connections, building essential skills such as healthy relationship boundaries, financial planning, digital empowerment as well as increased self-worth.

Participants are encouraged to develop close connections with other women in their cohort, both in person and online. These relationships are vital in supporting participants in developing greater emotional resilience and self-confidence, engaging more actively in broader society, as well as reinforces learnings from their workshops.

Why It Matters
Women in underserved communities face disproportionate poverty and multiple forms of marginalisation :
- Female labour force participation rate is 15.9% lower than men's
- Women's median monthly salary is less than 73% of men's
- Women disproportionately occupy lower-income, lower-skilled, informal employment
- 3.5 times more single mothers than single fathers
- More women live in subdivided housing units than men
- Women were disproportionately affected by COVID and economic downturns on physical and mental health
Emerging Needs: Needs assessments reveal marginalised women experience stress primarily from familial relationships, financial concerns, and health issues, and seek support in emotional resilience, communication skills, and digital literacy.
