Jo joined The Women’s Foundation as Director, Pipeline Initiatives in February 2016. She leads all gender diversity and inclusion programmes, partnerships and initiatives that support the development of the pipeline of female talent in Hong Kong for executive and non-executive roles. Pipeline Initiatives include the Mentoring Programme for Women Leaders, the Male Allies, the 30% Club, Women on Boards, the HR Advisory Council and the TWF suite of HR Best Practice Guides covering Return-to-Work Programmes, Global Mobility Programmes, Unconscious Bias, Women's Networks and Mentoring Programmes.
Prior to this, Jo worked for BBC Worldwide and the British Council. At BBCW as Head of Audio Visual Production, ELT she oversaw all educational media creation for BBC English in Asia. As Editorial Manager for the British Council, she managed their widest reaching digital product for children learning English, the LearnEnglish Kids website. Jo continued to demonstrate her commitment to educational technology as an elected member of the IATEFL Learning Technologies committee and has since joined the TEDX TinHau Women Steering Committee, focusing on content curation.
In addition to working at The Women’s Foundation, Jo is highly committed to D&I initiatives and advancing future leaders through mentoring and sponsorship on programmes such as the University of Birmingham Alumni Mentoring Programme, the Cherie Blair Mentoring Programme for Women in Business, the FinS (Fruits in Suits) Mentoring Programme and the TWF / Microsoft GirlSpark Mentoring Programme.
Jo is a keynote and TEDx speaker and regularly speaks on and moderates panels about gender diversity and inclusion - the issues and solutions. Topics she has spoken on include: Breaking through Barriers for Women Leaders, A Strategic Approach to Addressing Unconscious Gender Bias, Mentoring and Sponsoring and the Benefits of Both, Plugging the Leaky Pipeline, Making Mistakes & Authentic Leadership, HR Best Practice for a more Gender-Inclusive Workplace, Empowering Female Entrepreneurs and Male Allies - Influencing and Driving Change.
