Dame Carol Black will speak about:
• her experience of leading a Cambridge college
• whether an Oxbridge education is relevant in the 21st century
• the benefits of a single-sex learning environment for girls
• how Newnham inspires women to occupy positions of leadership

About the Speaker
Dame Carol Black has been Principal of the all-female Newnham College, Cambridge, since 2012. Dame Black is also Expert Adviser on Health and Work to the Department of Health, England, Chairman of the Nuffield Trust, and Chairman of the Governance Board of the Centre for Workforce Intelligence. Dame Black is a past-President of the Royal College of Physicians, of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, and of the British
Lung Foundation. She is also a Trustee of the National Portrait Gallery, and is a member of the committee for the Queen’s Awards for Voluntary Service. In November 2013, Dame Black was named one of the 100 most powerful women in the UK in the Woman’s Hour Power List.
